Sustainable tourism, concretely!

1 – Itinerary Again!

Let's not forget that vacations also mean taking the time to discover, to allow yourself to get off the beaten track!
Too crowded in Saint Antonin-Noble-Val, head towards Caylus, a little gem of a medieval village. The same goes for Bruniquel, whose hilltop castles rightly attract thousands of people each year. You will not be disappointed by stopping nearby at Montricoux, a small authentic village with a large number of timber-framed houses. And if we only had one piece of advice to give you: Dare to get off the main routes and discover the charm of our small, authentic villages: Cayriech, Puylaroque, Bioule, St Projet, Lacapelle Livron, Cazals…

2 – Make the right choice, come out of season!

Savoring the charm of an offbeat stay is priceless! Actually yes, and it’s worth it! Apart from the advantageous prices, traveling out of season means: avoiding the crowds, strolling quietly through our small cobbled streets, enjoying the autumn colors or the awakening of nature in spring, in short, feeling truly privileged!

3 – We eat local!

Because we also travel on the plate, taste all our local and seasonal flavors! Come on, because it's you, we'll give you the right tips for finding our good local products: Products in Midi-Quercy and you will have all the good places to eat local, not to mention your support for the local economy, thank you!

4 – We choose committed accommodation!

Finding accommodation yes, but more ecological accommodation in your daily life! How ? By reducing water, electricity or energy consumption, reducing waste or recycling it, encouraging other forms of mobility such as cycling... The entire range of eco-responsible accommodation.

5 – A story of encounters!

We all know that the journey involves meeting the other, the native!
Open up to their history, to our History, understand the nature that surrounds us and share the passion of these men and women who bring our territory to life. Are you more of a guided tour, ceramic workshop or nature hike? Follow our tour guides and heritage facilitators for real experiences. Let yourself be carried away by their sincerity and become for the time of visit, a workshop, a hike, a real fashionable local place! We tested for you, find all our adventure stories here.

6 – Leave no trace!

This may seem obvious to you, but we remind you that to limit your impact on the environment: do not leave a trace of your passage behind you!
We stay on the marked trails, no shortcuts so as not to trample the species, no more picking plants, visiting the caves when bats are hibernating, climbing during the nesting period of birds on the rock walls, we obviously picks up your waste, in short so many simple actions within everyone's reach to benefit while respecting.

7 – An alternative to the car

And yes it is possible! Here too, the train passes through our two stations in Caussade and Laguépie, carpooling exists and the bus costs 2 euros from Montauban to St Antonin Noble Val in summer! Not to mention that our territory is a wonderful playground for our cycling friends. Electric or not bike is the way to discover our destination from another angle, to take the time and finally to let go. Ready to take the challenge ? The Aveyron gorges cycle route and all our cycle loops waiting for you !

8 – Keep your good habits!

On vacation, it's like at home, we sort, we take it easy on showers and laundry, we turn off the lights behind us as well as all electrical appliances, we open the windows at the coolest times of the day to avoid turning on the air conditioning. We limit packaging by favoring water bottles for your walks, airtight boxes for your picnics and for your shopping at the local market, think of a tote bag. We opt for the cream rather than the sunscreen oil which forms a screen on the surface of the water and slows down the photosynthesis of underwater plants. And it's better not to apply it just before swimming. So many good gestures not to forget even on vacation! To know more : ADEME “Long live the holidays” tutorials.

9 – Bring back a truly local souvenir

Because it's still more gratifying to say that you've brought back a truly local souvenir!
Not to mention that it's not as if we had talented artists and craftsmen, ancestral know-how with our hat-making towns Caussade and Septfonds, AOCs with multiple flavors to delight our taste buds and gourmet specialties to share to make the vacation last a little longer when you return. So, we avoid made in China and we choose 100% Midi-Quercy.

10 – We compensate for our carbon footprint

We know that tourism is not the most ecological practice there is! Who says travel, says transport. Tourism represents 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, a figure that is constantly increasing. You make efforts for the planet all year round but you really need a vacation, and bam the guilt invades you! No stress, you have the opportunity to make up for it by offsetting your carbon emissions. The site GreenTripper offers travelers the opportunity to calculate their CO2 footprint and offset it by supporting a certified climate project.
