What is sustainable tourism, concretely?

Towards more responsible and sustainable tourism

It’s decided, let’s take action! It's all well and good to talk about sustainable tourism, eco-responsibility, ecotourism, but in practice, how do we do it?
The Midi-Quercy region has been engaged for several years in the development of a sustainable tourism strategy. The health crisis that we have experienced in recent years and climate change are very real and we suffer the consequences every day. The tourism sector is changing and we are seeing new habits emerging from our visitors looking for more virtuous practices. The actors of the territory have understood this well and it is these exemplary professionals sensitive to the preservation of our planet and of course our territory that the Midi-Quercy country wishes to promote as you browse this site.

Because encouraging eco-responsibility in tourism means triggering a change in practices, the Midi-Quercy country has chosen with all of its local partners to support tourism professionals towards a concrete ecological transition. Energy savings, housing, eco-friendly gestures, circular economy, short local circuits, mobility, so many subjects on which tourism professionals are questioning themselves and must progress. This is the mission that the Pays Midi-Quercy has given itself alongside its partners to give professionals the means to concretely initiate their ecological transition. All towards an eco label!
