This week we are introducing you to the Cabéou circuit (PR4) in Bruniquel! So, was this the best day to hike? Surely not. Did we do it anyway? Yes. Did we regret it? No way !

Despite the gloomy weather, we really fell in love with this hike! The departure is normally at the Bruniquel tourist office but we started at a place called "Le port" (cross the bridge on the D115 to cross the Aveyron). This circuit takes us into the undergrowth where the trees are covered with moss and lichen, we have the impression of walking in an enchanted forest! This walk must be very pleasant in summer because a large part is shaded, we will probably do it again once the sunny days return. Those who want to do it in winter will have the chance to have the Cabéou stream flowing and enjoy the sound of the running water. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for us, it was a little too early in the year.

Circuit from Cabéou to Bruniquel

After a slight climb we leave the woods to arrive on the Causse where dry stone walls line the paths. The hike takes us to the edge of the cliff where we can admire a superb view of the Bruniquel castles and the Aveyron valley. The last part of the circuit allows us to gradually descend towards our starting point.

In conclusion, it was a very nice hike, for all levels. It takes around 3 hours to do the 10 km.
